Orticola

Description

Flower exhibition, NGO

Mostra Mercato Orticola is the annual floral event that signifies the start of the summer in Milan when the Indro Montanelli Public Gardens come into full bloom. Founded in the second half of the 19th century, Orticola is not merely an exhibition for plant lovers; it’s also a non-profit organisation. Every year the event’s proceeds are donated to promote, spread and maintain green areas around the city.

This year, with the support of Paola Barzanò, WDT Agency will once again partner with Orticola welcoming guests with a simple, natural, colourful and interesting menu. A menu designed around small tasting dishes, allowing visitors complete freedom to move amongst the flowers, served on compostable tableware made from cellulose pulp.

Nerone rice with organic and seasonal vegetables, loaves of bread and naturally leavened focaccia from local suppliers will feature, as well as the caramelised fig crunch from Santomiele in Campania. To best present the produce, we have chosen Casa Gentili’s natural hand-woven trays.

Motivated by the idea of bringing local excellence to the table, we’ll tell the stories of small producers like Apulian Miaterra and Larderia Fausto Guadagni with quality at their core. We are ready to make this year’s opening of Orticola an event not to be missed!
